Rest of the Main Menu items

This section covers briefly rest of the Main Menu items which are not covered elsewhere. Depending on the Roles and Permissions you have, you may, or may not see all of the items. In general, Portal Admin has all items available.

Access Control

Access control entries can be used in various contexts to define which API clients or users have access to specific resources.

Authorisations

Authorisations are relationships between various types of objects and subjects. It is possible to edit authorisation types and sources.

Single Sign-on

Distributed cross-service sign-on (sign-in) and sign-off (sign-out) management.

User Directories

Managing and Enabling of external user directory like LDAP Server.

Selecting User Directories opens a window where external user directories like LDAP, AD DS, ADFS, and other SAML-based methods can be added, configured or deleted. This selection is only available for user accounts with the role of Namespace Admin or Namespace Auditor.

Locations/Sites

Locations and sites are logical or physical entities like services or office locations. This is the place to store such information. This menu item is only visible to users having roles of Location Admin or Location Auditor.

Selecting Locations/Sites opens a view where where services or users can be given information about their location or site, either physical or logical. The information can be for example the physical office location af a person, physical location of a server or an address of a service.

Contacts

Contacts is an “address book” where information about relevant persons and organisations can be stored. This menu item is only visible to users having roles of Contact Admin or Contact Auditor.

Selecting Contacts opens a window where contact information people or parties essential to the organization can be viewed or managed. Contacts are often used for alerting purposes.

Targets

A Target is an abstract notification object. It may be physical, like a computer or logical like a service. Targets can be used for modelling the structure of the technical production environment of your organisation.

Selecting Targets opens a view where targets can be viewed or configured. Targets are services or devices by nature. The rationale of listing the targets is to have an overall view of services for easy control and maintenance.

Analytic Reports

Selecting Analytic Reports opens the reporting section. Some reports are internal to Trivore Identity Service, and some require further selections.

Event Logs

Event Logging contains logs. What the user is shown depends on the role(s) he/she holds. Namespace Admin and Namespace Auditor are able to view all Event Log items for that particular namespace including security related Event Log items. Portal Admin and Portal Auditor are able to view all normal Event Log items. Security Admin and Security Auditor are able to view all security related Event Log items. Less common Event Log tasks are in Actions menu. Event Logs are covered in more detail in chapter “Event Logging (a.k.a. Audit Trail)” below on page 37.

Text Messages

Text Messages is a view to SMS messages sent using Trivore Identity Service. List can be filtered using different criteria including receiver and sender of message, billing reference and message state. This menu item is only visible to users having roles of SMS Admin or SMS Auditor.

OpenID Connect

OpenID Connect compatible client applications contains management and information on configuring OpenID Connect client applications. More information is available on the Trivore Identity Service API Guide, (Doc ID 1001-188P). This entry is shown only users having OpenID Connect Admin role.

Management API

Management API is documented in Trivore Identity Service API Guide, (Doc ID 1001-188P). This entry is shown only users having Management API Admin role.

Webhooks

Selecting Webhooks open editor for current web hooks, which trigger an action according to a defined rule.

Application Tokens

This Main Menu item allows for Developers to view the data written to the application private token store. More information on these token is available in Trivore Identity Service API Guide, (Doc ID 1001-188P). This view is mainly for diagnostic purposes only.

Data Storages

This Main Menu item allows for users to view their data storages.

External Permissions

External Permissions allows for the management of external permissions and their groups.

Contexts

A context is a different view of functionalities Trivore Identity Service offers. A possible use case scenario is customizing a context for customer service containing only functionalities needed in customer service. All contexts in the namespace are listed here.

Translations

The translations Main Menu item allows for custom translations of various parts of the User Interface. The changes will affect the whole system (All namespaces). The changes may take up 5 minutes to be visible. Use this functionality only if you need to do so, and then document everything with care. This view is only available for users having Account Admin role.

Email Templates

Email templates allows for the creation and customization of email templates. These email templates can be used to quickly send emails to users.

Web themes

Web themes are a way to customise the layout and styling of end-user visible web pages hosted on the service. Web themes allows injection of CSS rules into the page. See documentation for more info.

System Preferences

System Preferences menu item is only visible to users having role of Portal Admin or Portal Auditor. Here are the general settings of the whole platform that could contain many namespaces.

Selecting System Preferences opens a Mid Pane, a second level menu for selecting system and application settings common for everyone affecting all namespaces and user accounts. This selection is only available for user accounts with role Portal Admin or Portal Auditor.
