Exporting as CSV or Excel

Many functionalities in the portal allow you to export data, usually reports or other data that is displayed in a table.

For example:

You can export tabular data either to a CSV (comma-separated values) file or as an Excel (95, 97, 2000) spreadsheet.

Once you click Export in a view or window, you are prompted with the export settings:

File format

Select the file format you wish to use.

  • CSV (Comma-separated values) is a common simple table format
  • Microsoft Excel is excel-specific table format.

Exporting as CSV

CSV file options are as follows:

Separator

Select the separator character used to separate values (columns) in the file

Quote character

Defines the character for quoting values in the table. Either double quotes (") or single quotes (').

Character set

Defines the character set to be used when exporting the CSV file. The default UTF-8 is the web standard, but you can choose another. UTF-8 has the widest support for international characters and some character sets may not include all the necessary characters.

Exporting as an Excel File

There are no settings for exporting as an Excel file. Simply click Select to export.
