Setting Up Managed Google Play

You can use a managed Google Play store to restrict users to only install approved applications, or install them in addition to freely installable apps. You can create a completely customised Google Play store. This requires either a Work Profile or Work Managed Device setup.

You need to do the following configuration:

  1. Create an enterprise for Managed Google Play, as described in Enterprises (this must be done before provisioning devices)
  2. Approve products, as described in Products (you can do this later as well)
  3. Define custom store layout (optional), as described in Store Layouts
  4. Enable and configure Managed Google Play policy in Android device templates, as described below
  5. Create and provision devices using the templates

Notice

You must create an enterprise and configure it for the devices (or more typically device templates) before provisioning the devices!
