Google Play
Google Play allows creating a custom Managed Google Play store. You can restrict the store to only show approved applications, or additional to normal apps. Approvals are done for an "enterprise", which you need to enroll in Google Play. You can have multiple such "enterprises" under an organisation in the EMM service. You can only have one enterprise for one Gmail account.
Managed Google Play works with either a Work Profile or a Work Managed Device ("Device Owner Mode"). It must be configured before provisioning. For work managed devices, provisioning is done to a clean (new or factory-reset) device. It is therefore necessary to configure Google Play before provisioning such devices.
Managing Google Play apps is done in the Google Play section in the portal. It is visible only if Android EMM services have been enabled for the organisation (see Configuration→Platforms→Android; the EMM Master Service Account must be set).
The management views are as follows:
- Enterprises – for setting up the Google Play management
- Products – view and manage approved apps
- Store Layouts – manage customised Google Play store layouts
