News (Message of the Day)
Managers can send news or "Message of the Day" (MotD) to all users. A message is shown to all users until its validity expires. Messages can be translated so that they are shown to users in their own language.
News are managed in the Organisation→News view.
New Message or Translation
To create a new message:
- Click New in the view toolbar
- The message editor appears
Fill in the necessary fields. They are as follows:Created
Date and time when the message was created.
Modified
Date and time when the message was last modified.
Language
Language of the message. The message is only shown for users with the same language. The default language for messages is your (organisation manager's) account locale setting. Once you have written the message in one language, you can translate it to other languages, as described later.
Title
You should give messages a title. The title is shown not just in messages, but also in notifications.
Valid from
The message is shown after the beginning of validity.
Valid to
The message is shown until the end of validity.
Show as pop up notification on login
Shows the message as a pop-up message when the user signs in to the self-service portal. Notice that logging in to the portal is not part of daily use.
Show notification in client if unread
Shows a notification in the mobile device for unread messages.
- You should then write the message in the text box.
- Click Save to save the new template and exit the editor

Adding a Translation
Select a message from the list and click Add translation. This opens the message editor, where you can select the translated language. Translated messages are shown in the main view under the original message.
Notice that the translations have the same ID as the original message, but are identified by the language code after the ID.
