Device Compliance

Device compliance rules ensure that all devices are managed by the service and are in compliance with your corporate rules for mobile access. You can define compliance rule sets for all or individual device owners, as well as groups. You can add/remove and enable/disable any platform, while also making necessary changes. Click on the tab for the relevant platform to specify the rules per device type.

You can configure compliance rules for devices in the Devices→Compliance view.

Basic Operations

Let us first go through the basic tasks for managing compliance rules: registering, editing, and removing rule sets.

Adding a Rule Set

To add a new rule set:

  1. Click New in the toolbar

  2. See the Compliance Rule Set Editor for a detailed description of the settings

  3. Finally, click either Save to save the settings and exit, or Cancel to exit without saving.

Editing a Rule Set

To edit an already existing rule set:

  1. Select the rule set in the list and click Edit in the toolbar

  2. See the Compliance Rule Set Editor for a detailed description of the settings

  3. Finally, click either Save to save the settings and exit, or Cancel to exit without saving.

Removing a Rule Set

To remove a compliance rule set from the system:

  1. Select the rule set in the list and click Remove in the toolbar

  2. Click Remove to remove the rule set or Cancel to exit without removing it

Checking All Devices for Compliance

To check if any or all the configured devices are in compliance with the rules sets, do as follows:

  1. Click Check all devices
  2. A page listing all the configured devices and other properties including the rule set will pop-up.

A Noncompliant statement with a red flag indicates that the device is not in compliance, while a Compliant statement indicates compliance.
  3. Solve the problem by doing any of the following:
    1. Click the device name in the Device column to edit the device configuration, as described in Device Editor.
    2. Click Enforce to enforce rules that can be enforced. Enforcing sends commands to the non-compliant devices to make them compliant, such as by installing or removing applications.
  4. Click Close to exit the view

Under the pop-up page, click the hide unknown check-box to hide unknown devices and additional properties. Click the recheck button to refresh the page list or recheck for additional devices. Click on the print button to print the pop-up page, and click on the enforce button to enforce the enforce changes made.

When you are through, click on the Close Button to exit the pop-up page.
