Setting Up Apple VPP for organisation (Obsolete)
THIS WAS MOVED TO Volume Purchase Programme (VPP).
This article describes how to set up Apple Volume Purchase Programme (VPP) to assign VPP book and application licenses to devices.
Setup VPP
This document assumes that you already have Apple VPP user account. Creating new Apple VPP account is out of scope of this document.
Go to https://vpp.itunes.apple.com and select either Education or Business and login with your VPP account. Select Account Summary from the menu as illustrated in the screenshot below.
At Account Summary page, click Download Token link to download Service Token (sToken) file to your computer.
Now login to mySync with orgManager or vendor/master credentials and select Organisation from main menu and select tab Volume Purchase Programme.
Click Upload service token button to upload the sToken file downloaded in previous step.
After service token is uploaded, all VPP related data (user accounts, licenses) is automatically fetched from Apple VPP web service. VPP related data is automatically reloaded every 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can press the Refresh button below Available licenses table to force full reload.
Create applications
This section assumes that you have already bought some VPP licenses that are visible in the Available licenses table in mySync VPP user interface. If you have not bought any licenses yet, do so now.
mySync requires that you create an application for every VPP license batch (batch means all licenses for same iTunes app/book) you have bought in order to assign licenses and install applications to devices. This step is fully automated. Select all licenses in Available licenses table and press Create application(s) button. This will open confirmation dialog, press Yes to continue.
It is always safe to re-create/update applications by repeating the previous step as mySync is able recognise existing applications and no duplicates will be created.
After this step, there should be new applications visible in Devices / Applications.
To view available or used VPP licenses, select an application and press Edit button. If application has related VPP licenses, there will be Volume Purchase Programme tab visible in the edit dialog. The Volume Purchase Programme licenses table shows all related VPP licenses and whether they are available or already assigned to a device.
